Kitchen Secrets For Great Skin: HONEY don't just consume it, use it!

HONEY, HONEY and MORE HONEY!!!

Hello Gorgeous,

Where to start? There are so many things I want to share with you about this amazing kitchen cupboard secret.
For so many years starting from the ancient Egyptian queens (like Cleopatra) humans have used this naturally gotten product for go-to beauty and skin treatments.

"Why honey?"

Honey, the good type of honey that is- has a number of medicinal effects.
The greatest belief is that with raw honey, which is the healthiest form of honey does not attract ants.
Shocking yea? I have always assumed ants would just love it since they like sugar so much but as a matter of fact, they don't. So if your honey attracts ants, best guess is that sugar has been added to it and it is no longer pure.
pure raw honey is still viscous when you try to freeze it and does not get crystallized.

Back to business,

Honey is not only great and healthy to eat, it is also good for the skin and hair.
Honey nourishes and soothes the skin. It has anti-bacterial and hydrating properties which rejuvenates the skin and reduces blemishes. It has anti-microbial properties and also has anti-ageing effects (Whew!!)

Did you just say 'Magical honey?'

Honey has been medically used to heal all sorts of ailments but how can we use it to our own benefits? It can be mixed in different ways to suit different purposes
My verdict? you can never go wrong with honey.

HONEY THE FACIAL SCRUB

Here's what you'll need

1 tablespoon of Honey
1 tablespoon of sugar (preferably brown)
Olive oil
1/2 a tablespoon of lemon
Mix this in a bowl.
This should be used once a week to exfoliate

HONEY THE WASH

1 tablespoon of milk
1 tablespoon of turmeric powder
This is an oil controlling and acne fighting facial wash
It can be used daily
wash of with warm water and pat dry.

HONEY THE MASK

1 Tablespoon of Honey
1 tablespoon of olive oil
Egg yoke (this firms the skin)
Mix this and apply to face, leave on for 15-20 minutes.
Wash off with warm water and pat dry.

HONEY THE MOISTURISER

Mix a bit of Honey with Shea butter.
Use as a moisturiser while body or face is still damp.
Does wonders for the skin.

HONEY FOR  SUNBURNS

Honey on its own can be used to soothe sunburns.
It can also be used mixed with milk, lemon, almond oil.
Apply mixture to affected area and leave for 15 minutes.

HONEY can be used to get rid of unwanted facial hair.
1 tablespoon of Honey
Few drops of Lemon juice
1 tablespoon of sugar
Beat it into a smooth paste
Warm the paste in the microwave for 3 minutes
Touch with your finger to make sure its not too hot
Apply to areas you want in the direction of hair growth.
Place a strip of cloth on it and pull off in the opposite direction.
This removes hairs from the roots.
And leaves your face hair free for a while.

You can also put a cup of honey in your bucket of water when taking a bath.
This nourishes the skin and gives it a soft feeling.

There are so many more uses of honey, and the honey recipes are easy to do and give great results just like I promised.

    1. Hey Tsarah, most people believe that the purest form of honey, aren't gotten at the supermarkets, but they are the honey made locally in your community. Because they aren't over processed, or stuffed with chemicals all in the Name of packaging and preservation. So check around you, they just might be a bee farmer close-by.
