Kitchen Secrets For Great Skin: More to CUCUMBERS Than Just Being A Fruit!

We all think we know a lot about cucumbers, but in actual fact, we haven't even begun to understand half of the wonders cucumbers can do.

Cucumbers contain most of the vitamins we need every day!!!
Just one cucumber contains Vitamin B1, Vitamin B2, Vitamin B3, Vitamin  B5, Vitamin B6, Folic Acid, Vitamin C, Calcium, Iron, Magnesium, Phosphorus,  Potassium and Zinc.
*Whew* I'm sure you didn't know that huh?! 
Who would have known that so much can be gotten from such a tiny fruit?

Cucumber for Eyes

Puffy Eyes gone the Cucumber way
Cut 2 thin slices of cucumber, preferably cold from the fridge and place it on your eyes for about 15 minutes
*Tadaaa! less puffy eyes.
How?
Well cucumbers contain ascorbic acid and this prevents retention of water which helps out with the puffiness.

Cucumber Cooling Face Pack
Mix cucumber juice
2 tablespoons of powdered milk
1 egg white
Blend ingredients, 
Apply to face and neck.
Rinse after 30 minutes.

Cucumber-Pear Facial Mask
1/2 chopped cucumber
1/2 chopped pear
1 egg white
2 tablespoons of milk
Blend ingredients
It can be used immediately or stored in the fridge for about 30 minutes
Massage paste on face and leave for 20-30 minutes.

Moisturising Banana-Cucumber Mask
Works for Normal-Dry Skin
1/2 of the Cucumber sliced and skinned
1/2 banana
1 tablespoon of Honey
1 tablespoon of Lemon Juice
Blend or Mix ingredients
Apply to Face
The Banana, honey and the cucumber refresh and moisturise the skin

Cucumber-Oats Mask for Acne Prone Skin
1//2 cucumber
2 tablespoons of Oats
1/2 Juice of Lemon
1 Tablespoon of Honey
Apply Mixture to Face for 15 minutes

Tips & Tricks
Cucumbers are a good source of vitamin B, so put down your drinks and coffee and eat a cucumber! It will  do wonders for your skin.

Cucumber juice mixed with coconut water is a great skin whitening beauty treatment. This helps to fade all types of blemishes from the face too over time.

Due to its low calorie and high water content, cucumber is an ideal diet for people who are looking for weight loss.


Never again should we refer to cucumbers as just a fruit, without using "wonderful" or  "effective" or "awesome" in the same sentence, neither should we walk by a fruit stand on the way home or at a supermarket and not stop to stock up on our ever so faithful and dependable friend.

  2. Greeat! But I disagree on the SPF ... Cucumbers are not certified to ensure maximum protection from the sunrays which can lead to cancer and other skin problems, I say a more natural ,safer and certified sunprotection is "zinc" (if not a die hard organic fan the popular "octinoxate" ). Can be found in some baby powder or best bet "dusting powder" (unfortunately that will give your sting your face on the first application)
